                                            Pixillation...

I set up a bed sheet in the broadcast studio, just to get some test shots of what I want for my pixillation. When I do my final shoot for the pixillation part of my animation, I'll have the sheet for underneath the subject and also one to cover the subjects body, like a duvet. I will also have two pillows, to make it look more like a bed.

I used a tripod to have the camera almost directly over the subject as a birds-eye-view.I found that by tilting the tripod forward and wedging the back leg, I could get a better birds-eye-view shot, directly over the subjects body.

                                            Bed test 01

                                            Picture
This is the set-up of the room. The sheet spread out across the floor with a tripod in the centre.

The tripod would go directly over the subjects legs and be tilted more over the body.

                                            Bed test 03

                                            Picture
I then thought it looked more realistic if the subject was on his side. This way he looks more likely to be asleep and will be facing the cut out animation next to him.

                                            Bed test 02

                                            Picture
At first, I got the subject to lay on his back and the camera was not directly over the body.

                                            Bed test 04

                                            Picture
For this shot I tilted the camera forward more over the subjects body. This worked better as a birds-eye-view and could see more detail.

When I do this again, I need to leave more space on the right of the screen (left of the subject) for the cut-out animation to fit in.
